BioCharlotte & The Co-Stars is an Oslo, Norway-based rock band which has gained a formidable reputation as a live and recording act, having released a critically acclaimed album and played at most of Norway's main venues. As per September, 2009 the band are working on their follow-up album scheduled for release in 2010. After the split-up of Oslo based band Oyster, singer-songwriter Charlotte Jacobsen decided to go further, and with newly-written songs and new band members, she founded Charlotte & The Co-Stars in 2003. The band went through a series of personnel changes during their early years, before the line-up had stabilized by 2005. The following year the band recorded their debut album, produced by Frode Jacobsen (Madrugada) and Alex Kloster-Jensen (Ricochets, My Midnight Creeps). Early summer 2007 a record deal was made with Bonnier Amigo, and the album, "Win, Love Win", was released on October 15th, 2007, to widespread critical acclaim. The band then spent the following year playing a string of gigs throughout much of Norway, including major festivals Norwegian Wood and Hovefestivalen, at both of which they graced the main stage. Jacobsen's musical imprint is songs with warm-blooded nerve, the music melancholic with sharp edges. The expression is influenced by dusty highways as well as the classic singer-songwriter tradition. The band's collective musical experience amounts to a lot, the members having played in a number of bands, such as The Captain & Me, Violet Scene, My Sensational Panda and Still Doing Sky.
